On March 16th, 2017, we said Goodbye to this wonderful theater, which was visited on regular basis by families and college students. We surely miss it. I had the honor of being present there during the last show.

Our tendency to relax and have fun make us spend money, but also enjoy moments away from worries.
Despite the technological advancement of this era, as individuals, we keep looking back to the past with the purpose of reinforcing our individual and social identity. With the reenactments of important events, the elaboration of handmade objects, showing tribute wearing attires from a bygone era, or just transmitting anecdotes from generation to generation, we live in the present, preventing the past from be forgotten.
Working on this project made me feel more engaged with the American culture. It was interesting to find similitudes with my own roots. Each image has more than a visual value. The people shown here have a big respect for their ancestors and my hope is that for a moment, their photographs can trigger in the mind of the viewer, some memories of their own history.
The printing technique that was utilized is called Photogravure. Editing in my computer and then working on a printing press, was the perfect combination to add an organic feeling, and emphasize the purpose of this series.
